Raku stands for ceramics that will be fired in Japanese origin. The work the students made, gets fired in a primitive gas kiln. The quickness of the process and its primitieve character gives the work a spontaneity and an extraordinary directness. The whole process of making, firing, reduction in a barrel filled with hay and cooling down in water, is an intense experience.
